How to play

En PajongSichuan mahjong with pawns, knights and rooks

Mahjong as Sichuan plays it, bloody to the end: four players, three suits of pawns, knights and rooks, no winds and no dragons. Build four sets and a pair before the others do, and keep playing after a win until three have won or the wall is gone.

RulesWhat counts, what ends it

Pass three tiles of one suit to a neighbour after the deal; the direction is drawn each hand.
Renounce a suit before play: you cannot win holding a tile of it, and holding one at the end makes you the flower pig who pays everyone.
Pong and kong claim a discard for three or four of a kind; a kong draws a replacement, and the fourth tile of an added kong can be robbed as a winning tile.
Bloody battle a winner retires and the hand goes on until three have won or the wall is exhausted; the not-ready then pay the ready.
Fan pure suit 2, seven pairs 2, all triplets 1, one per root, capped at 4; payments double per fan.
A match is four hands, one deal per seat.
